2023-10-17Bangladesh Government Press is the official printing house of Bangladesh government. It is also known as the BG press. The press is responsible for publishing government documents including classified documents. It publishes budgets, parliament bills, resolutions, ordinances, and posters. They are responsible for printing court verdicts and legal cases. Bangladesh Government Press traces its origins to the East Bengal Government Press which was based in Kolkata. It was briefly shifted to Dhaka Central Jail. It was reorganized and moved to current location in 1953; it was renamed East Pakistan Government Press. After the Independence of Bangladesh, East Pakistan Government Press became the Bangladesh Government Press.

2020-03-05Bangladesh Forms & Publications Office is a unit office of the Department of Printing and Publications under the ministry of Public Administration, GOB. It started functioning as an integral part of the then East Pakistan Government Press (EPGP). By 1972 it was introduced as a separate unit of the Department to compile the indents of Forms & Publications and take necessary measures to print-produce and disseminate these among the relevant offices of the Govt. throughout the country. As per requirement of the different offices of the Government various types of forms, registers, etc are supplied from this office on free of cost. Among these forms and registers are volume Book of land registration office, Treasury Chalan, Forms and Registers are used for marriage registration, money receipt of land revenue collection and DCR book etc. Besides, the laws passed in the Parliament, Ordinance, SRO and the rules-regulations are printed and circulated in the form of publication and are sold to the public through its own Sales Centers and Agents. It is mentioned here that there are two publication and sale centers are conducted by this office. Its main office is situated in Tejgaon and the another is at 14/2 Topkhana (Opposite of National Press Club). In addition there are few enlisted agents in the different places of the country to sell the publication items to the general public.
